Ju88 4D+BM of II/KG30force-landed Bear Island 4/11/42
Hi guys
Another Arctic query: Ju88 4D+BM of II/KG30 force-landed on remote Bear Island on 4 November 1942. The crew survived and were rescued next day by a Do24. Can anyone identify the Ju88 crew (all apparently uninjured)? The only clue is that the same crew was lost in the Med late 1942/early 1943. Not much to go on, but one of our experts may just have the answer. Happy Christmas and let's all pray for a more peaceful New Year. Cheers Brian |

The crew were Ofw. Schank, Uffz. Nagel, Uffz. Pillokat and Uffz. Grüber.
Unfortunately I do not have their given names. The Do 24 was W.Nr. 0019 KK+UX of 10. Seenotstaffel in Tromsö-Skattöra. All this from KTB of Seenotdienstführer 5 (Nord). |
