questions about JG77 (JG5) in 1941
 

Gentlemen

I have several questions about reported facts:these are confused,incoherend....

1) on 25/6/41,Heinrich Lesch claim his first "abschuss" according Prien and his team.
2) it was on 1/7/41 that it claim its first for Mombeek !
3) on 19/7/41 Hans Tetzner claim his second claim ( Hudson) always according Prien.....
4) it seems that it is impossible,he had been for several weeks with the staffel of Carganico (Kirkenes)!!
5) on 30/8/41 an UNKNOW pilot claim his fourth "abschuss" ( Hudson) Prien......
6) for Mombeek,the unknow pilot is HEINRICH EHRLER ( first "abschuss":Hudson)

Who are the 3 Hudson shot down that day?

This is a lot of questions!! but if someone can solve this" sac de noeuds"! it is welcome and thanks,thanks,thanks.

I have basically no time to check this out, but I am interested in some points and wish you could advise us a little more.
It is true that Mombeek and Group Prien differ on quite a few issues, most probably due to interpreting the remaining records differently, and perhaps making so called educated guesses 'in between'. I am just a minnow among the sharks here...:D

Point 1: Mombeek also says 25.6.41 for Lesch victory.
Point 2: What do you mean by 'it'?
Point 3: Mombeek says the same
Point 4: Since Carganico was with 1./JG 77 and Tetzner with I./JG 77 what is your evidence that Tetzner actually was with the 1.Staffeln and not with any of the others belonging to I. Gruppe?
Point 5/6: I don't have the vol by Prien handy right now, but Ehrler is a problem and his early scoring deff so. It is possible Mombeek has made an educated guess. I was also doing likewise some time back in correspondance with Johannes (off TOCH). Johannes has his own opinion, which I respect, regarding Ehrler

On 30.8.1941 No 320 Sq made a sweep to the Norwegian coastline looking for shipping. Three were shot down by the German defenders.

I have the impression that we don't have the same information.

point 1:in Eismeerjager Band 2 page 58,Eric Monbeek notes the first "abschuss" for Heinrich Lesch the 1/7/41 with a remark by Lesch himself:I quote"das war mein 1° abschuss" ( Lt Heinrich Lesch,14/JG 77 2000 ).
nothing about the 25/6/41.
point 2:"it" for:according to Monbeek etc....
point 3: note quite:almost.It refers to a pictures taken in Banak (6/41) where one sees Tezner in company of Salwender,Kasters,Villing,Dahmer.....see page 25 "anmerkung".

I did not understand the meaning of:éducated guess:the english is not my mother tonge(or paternal!)

I have not the last vol. of the JG5 and can be made corrections between time?

What is the opinion of Johannes about Ehrler?

the 2 sources are really serious,so I remain dubious.

You have to realise that without vol 4 by Mombeek, you will not see all the corrections he has made with regard to claims and dates in his vol 1 and 2.
My quotes are from his vol 4 which I only can presume are his final (at the time of writing)

With regard to Ehrler, well Johannes has to answer that, not me.

Soviet claims/losses are for our Russian friends to tackle. I have no such sources myself.
