Dear All,

Could someone please assist with the above Feldpostnummer.

I suspect that it belonged to either 2./JG 20 (i.e., before 4 July 1940) or 8./JG 51 (i.e., after that date).

Or perhaps the Feldpostnummer did not change with the aforementioned Staffel's designation change?

Any assistance in the matter will be highly valued.

Many thanks for your prompt and exhaustive reply.

There is, however, a time-gap between 1 January 1940 and 28 February 1941 - I wonder whether it is possible that 2./JG 20 used that Feldpostnummer even after 1 January 1940, and that the same Feldpostnumer was taken over by 8./JG 51 on 5 July 1940?
