Walter Vogel of JG3

Hello,

I am looking for information about Walter Vogel of JG3. He had in total 17 combat missions with JG3 and claimed a B-17 and had to do a forced landing near Olmuetz (date not known). He also participated at a kill of a Lancaster with Fw Nettelmann.

Does anybody have information about him (photos, claims, history, etc.)?

Thank you.

Regards,
Roger Gaemperle

Hi Roger,

could his name be Vogl (not Vogel)? I have old infos here out from the mid 60-tees, that a certain Feldwebel Vogl from JG 3 had his roots and his relatives in a little Bavarian town called: Kötzing, Steinbach 5 (street).

Or he survived and was/is still living there.

All the best, Horst

Hi Horst,

Thank you for your reply. I am 100% sure that his name was Vogel and not Vogl. But perhaps his name was by mistake recorded at as Vogl in a Luftwaffe report.

All the best,
Roger
