Claims Italy (Wellesley) - 6 december 1940 - Ethiopia
 

Hello,

On 6 december 1940, three Wellesley of No.47 Squadron take off, from Sennar, to bomb Bure (Ethiopia).

According to the mission reports (ORB 47 Squadron) and Christopher Shores book (Dust Clouds), bombers are intercepted, above the target, by a Fiat CR.42.

Wellesley K8521 (Pilot Officer Basil B. Witty, Paul A. Hunt ; Sergeant George A. Bonnar) is shot down by a Fiat CR.42. Pilot Officer Basil B. Witty dies from injuries, and the other two crew members are captured.

According to Christopher Shores (Dust Clouds), Italians claim three victories.

Would anyone have information about Squadriglia involved and the names of Italian pilot ?
