RAF Airfields of WW2

Hello,

While searching the Internet, I found this book: "RAF Airfields of World War 2" by Jonathan Falconer (publised in 2013). Unfortunately there are absolutely no previews or sample pages of this book.

I wonder if you could help me and show here 2-4 sample pages (including table of contents)? I don't want to buy a pig in a poke...

Thank you in advance!
R

Re: RAF Airfields of WW2

I own RAF Fighter Airfields of WW2 by the same author which I got second hand - Mostly it lists the airfields and provides a few photos in between and a few airfield maps too - but not a great amount of history.

IMHO each active airfield in England deserves a book in its own right, so think of this book as more to show people that certain airfields existed rather than a full history. For this reason only its worth having.

Its like Action Stations by PSL in 1980's but with lists and glossy photos with captions rather than actual history of events that occurred at a particular place.

At the end of the book there is a bit of text covering 'War over the West', Growing up in 10 Group, 'Daylight Bomber Escort' Flak clipped my wings' etc.

What were you looking for in this book?
