Empty Bordbuch BF 109 G-2
Shame there's nothing in it but here is the Bordbuch of Bf 109 G-2 Werk Nr. 13753.
It would appear to have belonged to III/JG 5 and was lost through flak fire on 19.8.1943 along with pilot Fw. Hans Thomann north of Kirkenes harbour. Thomann is recorded as being with 9 Staffel which matches a certificate dated 6.6.1943 when Uffz. Rudolf Mayer transferred a Bf 109 G-2 from Pori to Petsamo. This certificate is signed by Hauptmann Hermann Segatz on behalf of the Gruppenkommandeur III/Jagdgeschwader 5. It also bears the FP Nr. L 43818 - 8. Staffel, Jagdgeschwader 5. No doubt indicating he was still 8 Staffelkapitän at the time. /Ian |
Re: Empty Bordbuch BF 109 G-2
Prior to being with III/JG5 it would appear to have been with 1/JG 54 as it was 20% damaged in aerial combat on 6.11.1942.

I can not find the Kennzeichen it had with JG 54, however with JG 5 it was reported to be Gelbe 1. However in Eric Mombeek's book he shows Thomann in Gelbe 7!
