Luftflotte 3 HQ, August 1944
 

Does anyone know the date on which Lfl. 3 transferred its HQ from Paris to Reims. It appears to have been between the 16th and 20th but I don't have anything more precise at the moment.

The HQ of LflKdo 3 moved to Reims on 19.08.44 and from there to Mayen on 5.09.44.

Thank you both. I knew that the move to Arlon (as the "next battle headquarters" in the British translation) was announced on 27 August but there is a gap in the situation reports for the period when they quit Paris.

Reims was liberated on 30 August and Arlon on 10 September.

P.S. I have visited the Jardins du Luxembourg in Paris a number of times and either they have successfully removed all traces of the bunkers etc. or I have not looked in the right corners. Accounts of the Liberation of Paris say that the park was strongly fortified.
