P-38F-5 42-13322

Hello,
Can anyone confirm that these are pieces from a P-38f-5(recon plane). And if so where would these pieces be located on the plane. I know the longer one would be from the canopy but located exactly where.

Thanks

Not P-38 or F-5.
The canopy part has heavy gearing, making it look to be part of a turret.
Is there a part number on that piece?
The other part has an inspection stamp EEP which is English Electric Preston.
Were these found in the vicinity of Charmy?

Well thats a bummer. It was said to have been recovered from Harcombe Farm, Marshfield, Gloucestershire. But if its not a P-38 parts then who knows where it came from. Also the gear piece doesn't have any numbers on it.

thanks

Just an idea, could these be pieces from a Handley Page Halifax? Because I guess one of those crashed at the same farm as the P-38 so maybe it was a mix up with parts

A distinct possibility as Halifax EB146 of 1667 HCU crashed near Marshfield 27/4/1944.

The remains of the F-5 were excavated by the Severnside Aviation Society in the 1980s and almost all of the aircraft was recovered at the time.
