Re: loss of a handley page hampden
if the photos show it in shallow water it could be ,
420 Sqn Hampton I AE246 PT-V. ditched in the Kattegatt, 28-29 Mar. Target LUBECK. Source. Chorley, Bomber Command Losses 1942 |
Re: loss of a handley page hampden
hi,
thanks and yes i should show the photos. but my scanner isn't working at the moment. the hampden-wreck lies near a farm. it could be that the fragments of fuselage (cockpit) and wings were brought there. i don't know. the date is only a guess because i got the photos togehter with others which show machines that were shot down during the raid against lubeck. all the best jim |
Re: loss of a handley page hampden
Hi Jim
I'd be very interested in seeing those pics if possible. A few years ago I did a research project on the Lubeck Raid in March '42, and all the a/c involved in it. Hope you might be able to upload them sometime soon. Regards Ian |
