Bf-110 ZG76 Shot Down Sullom Voe 23.3.41
 

Hi All,

Can anyone tell me what the mission was of the BF-110 Wr.3774 of ZG76 that was shot down on 23 March 1941 off Sullom Voe, also this aircraft piloted by Uffz Karl Rudiger with R/Op Georg Reichel was flying with another 110, does anyone know the crew/werk number of the other aircraft please.

Also does anyone have any photos of crew or aircraft please.

You are probable aware of the following information. Unable to find details of 2nd aircraft

Two 110s appeared over Sullom Voe and machine gunned the village. They were engaged by a Royal Artillery Bofers gun, under the command of Sgt E.Bryson. A direct hit blew the tail off one of the attackers and the aircraft crashed into the water just off Sella Ness. A body was recovered from the wreckage, and the following day, the other body from the sea. The Bf 110 was later recovered from the water. A panel with the German markings on was removed and put on display in the Officers Mess at Sullom Voe.
Crew:- Uffz K.Rudigar (Pilot) and Gefr Georg Reichel (Gunner).

Bf 110 E-2, 3772, M8+WE. I have photos of this unit from that time but not of the crew

Hi Chris, is the W.Nr 3772 you give a typo! or is it W.Nr 3774?
I have 3774 the same as Islander.
