Another tail marking!!!
Hello,
I have not seen the number 6 on a Ju 52 tail before. Does someone knows what it means? I believe the code is DC + SM or DG + SM. Once again thank you for your help. Christian |
Re: Another tail marking!!!
There are examples of this '6' marking on 6./KG.z.b.V. 1 machines, but with an additional smaller numeral to indicate which plane-in-Staffel. (Several photos in Meyer & Stipdonk, Von der Fliegerschule zum Einsatzverband, pp238, 239).
DG+SM was WNr.7299 and served with KGr.500 and IV/KG.z.b.V. 1, lost 18.April 1943 as "1Z+HQ") DC+SM served with KGr.z.b.V. 105, 106, 108 and the FFS [C] 12, but I do not have the Werknummer. GRM |
Re: Another tail marking!!!
Thank you very much GRM!! It is highly appreciated.
I have so collected so many photos of the Ju 52 over the years and am now putting together a book showing them. If I at the same time can write a little about each picture it would be awesome. Cheers, Christian |
Re: Another tail marking!!!
DC+SM was 6741, nd spent a lot of time with KGzbv 108..
