Brunswick March 29, 1944 Luftwaffe losses
 

There were 10 Luftwaffe loses that went down on March 29, 1944
FO 284 BOMBER ESCORT by 8th AF Fighters. Don Gentile knocked down 2 FW 190s and 1 Me109. John Godfrey flying in the 2 position knocked down 3 Me 109s. I am having well know artist do an original drawing of the scene and was wondering if anyone had any info regarding the pilots or the A/C they destroyed? I think it would have been pilots from JG1. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Elements of JG 1, 3, 11, 301 and 302 fought that battle in the Brunswick region. They lost some 25 Bf 109 and Fw 190 - so it is impossible to define which of these fell victim to the two pilots listed above.

Do you know the names of the Luftwaffe pilots that were killed on that mission flying Me 109s or FW 190s?

Hi,
It seems that 8th AF Fighters claimed 46 victories on this day most in the Brunswick area - very unlikely to figure out who got who.
