Victory claim by JG5

Hello

20/4/43 and 21/4/43
Can any of you tell me how many "abschuss" claimed by JG5 during these two days? Days during which the 152° IAP among others seem to have suffered serious losses.
By comparing my sources,I arrive at results rather confusing.

Thank's in advance

Best Regards
Michel

Re: Victory claim by JG5

Hi

GOOD....seems a very good claims/losses:not so common.

20/4/43:five claims/four hurricanes lost(3 of 152°IAP,1 of 966°IAP)
21/4/43:five claims/five hurricane lost (5 of 152° IAP)

Do we know identities of claimants and lost ?

Re: Victory claim by JG5

Tagesmeldung does not report any names. It gives only the basic and normally a very general info. In 1943 the whole day operation was presented on one A4 size sheet. In 1942 it was more detailed.

Re: Victory claim by JG5

Hi Guys

With regards to Matti's reference to the A4 size sheet. With the mikrofilms this generally start about 23rd Juily 1942, prior to this it's each Staffel/Gruppe's confirmations up until that date on A4, however JG 5's daily(whole day operations) didn't start until about a year later, like JG 1,JG11. Only one Staffel A4 sheet seems to have survived for JG5, by memory 8./JG 5 or 7./JG 5. I'll search-out what I have acquired via abschusse bords and flugbuch entries.

Kind Regards

Re: Victory claim by JG5

Hi Michel

6./JG 5 absolutely made no claims on these days, though they were flying as Weißenberger flew a sortie on the 20th 0948-1020 hrs and 1730-1810 hrs on the 21st. I found only Carganico making a claim this day, and as it is not on the mikrofilms cannot be 100% about that.

Kind Regards

Hi Matti and Johannes

DAMN IT-DAMN IT!! it's incredible!to belive that it's made expressly!!
You can't imagine how much I have the "Rage".
For one of the few times, the claims correspond to almost 100% of the losses,of course....we know nothing about the claimants!it's a nightmare.

Well,stay identity of losses ?

Best Regards
Michel

Re: Victory claim by JG5

Hi Michel

Of the Jagd Staffel the only two I can see that could/should have made the claims were 4./JG 5 and 5./JG 5. The most fraudulent claimers of this Geschwader were 6./JG 5. Clutching at straws, but unless the Bf110's were involved then I would say 4th or 5th Staffels.

Kind Regards

Johannes
