SK+JS

The caption is correct? It is the prototype? What does SK + JS. Thank you.https://s30.postimg.org/o5ka7fjhd/Pi...5-07.19.35.jpg

Re: SK+JS

I don't know the meaning of the code but it does appear to be the protoype.

Re: SK+JS

The V13 was the first FW190B prototype but wasn't continued as the D model was forthcoming. The letters are the factory code ( Stammkennzeichen) painted on in production ( also below the wings) and it stayed with the aircraft even if replaced by the unit designators when assigned.
The last letter was unique to the aircraft eg. GH-KS, KT and KU were other FW190s.

Re: SK+JS

Sorry Carlo, these prototypes are a bit confusing. As per Heinz Nowarra, SK-JS was as in Edwest's post ie. the first C-model prototype from an FW190A-0 ( W/Nr 0036) . The test programme was "FW190 V13 (C-0)".
The V-12 ( 1 only) was a B-1 with the large belly turbo-supercharger.
Both were high-altitude versions.
There was another V13, the prototype for the Ta152C-1.

Nick
