Airfield attack on Vinchay (Vinciai) in Lithuania 22 june 1941
 

Hi everyone,

Vinchay (Vinciai) or Sasnava, as it is called today was a VVS airfield 45 km from the East Prussian frontier in the sector of 2nd Infantry Corps of 16th Army. On it was based 2nd eskadril'ya of the 15th IAP a senior fighter regiment of the VVS. The eskadril'ya had 11 I-153s and 10 pilots. Of the only German units that could have attacked the field who would it have been...? I expect it was an early morning attack because it was a fighter airfield. Those who could have been involved were Stab.III./JG 27, II./JG 52, III./JG 53, I.II./ZG 26 or JG 54. the question is who ? Basically I am looking for claims of aircraft destroyed on the ground by any of these units on 22 June 1941.
