Islands of Rhodes and Kos

I am off soon to Rhodes and Kos, i know a great deal of air fighting was fought around these islands but are there any crash sites or interesting WW2 aviation places of interest to visit ?

Please help or i will have to sit on a beach with the wife !!!

Hi Jon,

I lived on Rhodes for a year. You might want to check out the old barracks at Plimiri, at the south end of the island. I found some nice remnants of the battle fought there between Badoglio's troops and the Germans. You can still see the outlines of trenches and barbed wire. In addition, there's supposed to be a crashed JU 52 in the waters just offshore, but I couldn't find it. I hope you have a nice trip.
