Upcoming Me 262 Painting
Hello people, I just wanted to hear some feedback from fellow aviation fans regarding an upcoming project I am planning. I would like to depict a Me 262 and am wondering what others think as to the best unit or pilot's aircraft to choose. Also, I am not certain as to whether to show the 262 in flight/combat or perhaps on the ground. Any feedback would be appreciated.

How about depicting a bare metal Me 262 using the autobahn as a runway. How about 'Last throw of the dice' as title. What ever you choose I cant wait to see the result.

Re: Upcoming Me 262 Painting
That's a great idea and a nice title to think about; thanks. The reason I ask this question is because, as an artitst it is always important to find out what the people would like to see, instead of just painting what I favour myself.

Re: Upcoming Me 262 Painting
Hello, thinking of the bare metal Me 262 using the autobahn as a runway, it sounds like a great painting. Most of my knowledge is about USAAF, and although I know that late in the war 262s were based far down in southern Germany and sometimes hidden in forests and areas near autobahns, I hadn't heard of unpainted ships being used. Perhaps some of you Luftwaffe experts can tell me more?

Re: Upcoming Me 262 Painting
This is just a quick google image search. keyword "me262 autobahn". What happened to your link to your website? Refreshing to see WW2 planes not in the midst of the turmoil of combat for a change(I particularly liked the Fortress limping back home). Do you have any intrest in digital art. You might want to show your work at Military Meshes(mostly digital but they do appreciate the more traditional stuff aswell)?I am not an artist just a mere draughtsman but here is my latest Photogramatic survey of the Finish Heinoen HK-1(All 3D data extracted from photos precision is less than 1mm in all 3axis)

Re: Upcoming Me 262 Painting
Thanks for the images of 262s and like your digital artwork very much. I'm interested in any artwork depciting aircraft, especially WW2, however it is created. Just checked out that website and the home page is fantastic. I am not too good with computers, but do have fun with sceenshots from Forgotten Battles and Pacific Fighters.
Thanks for comments about my paintings. I didn't really realise most of them weren't in combat, but you're right. Perhaps that should be my trademark. |
