Could someone explain me,nd others, how "works" the Erkennungs Marke Nr. ?

I believe that the first part of the number, is the unit code, e.g. 59745 = 15/JG 27, the second part, is the personal number of a member of that unit, so EM 59745/427 belonged to Gefr Franz Rehsler, 15/JG 27, lost 04.07.1944, Lasson, Calvados, I'm sure I will be corrected, if I am wrong!

Thks, joe, I think you are pretty right I hv the thing understand like that, but the guy in is live, sometimes not too long, changed many time of unit, schools, spec. schools, erg. units, then diff. comb. units, the question is , did he hold same Nb for his whole career, I found pilots with nb refering to their very first start in the activity, inf.rgt., others hv the nb of the unit where they served at the time...any idea ???
