Do217 loss Normandy 19 August 1942
 

Dear fellows ,

Could someone help ? That day a Do217 crashed at Sauchay , east Dieppe , shot by allied fighters during Jubilee . If possible I'll appreciate very much unit , WkN , crew members and their fate .

Hard to say, that day KG2 lost not less than 26 planes ..., most of them around Dieppe

Looking at my notes for KG 2 and KG 40-, the only locations I have on land are Varengeville, 6 km south of Dieppe, Le Treport, near Dieppe, near Dieppe, near Dieppe, Abbeville and Merville. A name of a crew member might help

Thanks Chris ... it should be near Dieppe !

I don't know if there were casualties , but at least this is not a missing crew lost at sea . Maybe an investigation at the crash-site will give a clue .
