When did Siegfried Roethke join KG76?
 

Hello.
It seems Roethke left KG4 on or about 8/8/44, and it also seems he was promoted to Hptm during 4/45 while in 5./KG76. But what did he do in between?
Has anyone any good info on when he joined KG76?

According to the RK book, he left 6./KG 4 on 21 Oct 43 to join the staff of Luftflotte 6 and then General der Kampfflieger. He briefly returned to 11./KG 4 between June and August 1944 before no doubt returning to staff duties as he began conversion training to the Ar 234 at the start of 1945 with 5./KG 76 but never flew operationally after that. He was apparently promoted to Hptm mid-1943

Thanks Chris. That's about what I had, but nothing definite between 8/44 and 4/45. So start of 1945 is the best we can do for now.
My oversight on the Hptm promo in 2/43 (acting? or perhaps a typo) 7/43 (permament?) per ww2.dk career summaries.
