Air Attack on Leeming 29 Oct 40
 

Hptm Hermann Kühl St Kap of 2./KG 4 is reported to have made a successful attack on this Station on 29 Oct 40. I can see no personnel or aircraft casualties-does anyone have proof this attack happened?

29/10/40 18:30 The station was attacked by enemy aircraft - believed to be Ju88s, some bombs were dropped but none on the station ground.

One crew saw three enemy aircraft approaching our shore on the way out [To bomb Magdeburg or Wilhelmshaven], these aircraft were probably those which attacked this station on account of the position at the time and the course steered.

Thanks Martin. Looks like they were He 111s & the Germans were optimistic.
