Where is Friedrich Rupp buried?

Dear All,
In July I was in Freiburg im Breisgau for a few days and I also visited Wehr, Friedrich Rupp's (:inlove:), hometown where he is supposedly buried, in order to visit his grave. However, I didn't find it! I only found his parents' grave. Do you happen to know where poor Friedrich is actually buried?
Thank you very much in advance.

Re: Where is Friedrich Rupp buried?

He died on 15 May, 1943; his remains were miraculously recovered a month later from the sea; was buried 16 September, 1943.

Nothing about this fact-pattern suggests a simple explanation or burial location.

He was a good-looking kid. A lot of them were.

Dear Broncazonk,
Thank you for your answer, but these are things I have known for quite a long time.
Yes, he was very good-looking... the most handsome pilot of the Luftwaffe, in my opinion.
I hope I will find and visit his grave one day...

hi

VDK:
Friedrich Albert Ragnar Rupp could not be recovered.
According to the information available to us, he remained at sea

regards

Dear Lilsis,
Thank you very much for your answer. Does the abbreviation VDK stand for Volksbund Deutsche Kriegsgräberfürsorge?

It's such a great pity that poor Friedrich's body hasn't been recovered... I've even seen photos from his funeral (I'm attaching one to this post), but was it just a symbolic memorial service? Maybe there is a symbolic empty grave too...?

Strangely enough, the caption says he was buried in Freiburg, but I have a friend who knew Hans-Ekkehard Bob in his lifetime and who wrote to me once that Friedrich had surely been buried in Wehr.

Dear Christian,
Thank you very much for your reply. In fact, he was apparently buried in Wehr, which is also written next to the funeral photo (don't worry about the title of the file; it means 'my dearest little Friedrich' in Polish; I named it spontaneously this way because I'm actually very much in love with Friedrich).
The problem is that I visited the funeral in Wehr and I didn't find his grave. I wonder whether, although he had originally been buried in Wehr, his body had later been moved somewhere.

Hi again,

so far in Wehr his uncle Fritz is buried . Now some people think Fritz is only a shortform from Friedrich, but it isnt.

there are a lot of articles about the family (in german) in one there stand that his uncle is buried in 1944 in Wehr .

The famaily Rupp had here own villa in Wehr, where they all lived - behind the WW too, At last behind WW Hans, the brother from Friedrich directed the fabrik.

For us here the funeral in Freiburg was only for the massa, Friedrich was a hero.... so people ..........
