82 Squadron on 04 September 1941
Good night to all members!
I acquired a long time ago a RAF photograph, taken in action on daylight of 04 September 1941 showing some buildings (this is a vertical photo reconaissance). The only clues I do have are: S 82. 4.9.41 F8" > I therefore understand this is probably from 82 Squadron (some kind of reconaissance daylight trip) taken on the date informed with a câmera with 8 inches focal length. Since I do not have the 82 Squadron ORB for that Month, can someone who may possess it have a look if we can match the crew who took the Picture, their targets, take off time, etc? Thanks Adriano |
Re: 82 Squadron on 04 September 1941
The squadron did very little during the month of September 1941
There were three raids 17-Sep-41 D Mazingarbe 5/6 1 a/c lost (Circus C-95) 20-Sep-41 D Grand Quevilly 6/9 (Circus C-100C) 22-Sep-41 D Amiens-Longueau 0/11 Most of the month was taken up with army co-operation exercises There was no flying noted on 04.09.41 as the squadron was stood down Regards Martin |
Re: 82 Squadron on 04 September 1941
Dear Martin,
Thank you so much for checking the ORB for 82 Squadron. So we do not have a match and the S.82 may be interpreted perhaps as Sortie 82. If so, it must be related to Nș 1 Photographic Reconaissance Unit (1 PRU). So will have a careful look and try to match sortie 82 on the 04 September 1941. Thank you so much for your time and kind consideration in answering and helping with the thread Most humbly yours Adriano S. Baumgartner |
