Tempest colour question
 

Hi all,

This is a bit leftfield but I'm just trying to ascertain what the colour is immediately behind the rear bulkhead/back armour on top of the fuselage of the Tempest V.

Is it black or interior grey/green? Thomas Björkegren's photo of NV778 on the Hawker Tempest site clearly shows this but the exact colour is unclear in the photo:

Can anybody clarify this for me?

Not sure about the Tempests however every Sea Fury I have seen has had this area black. These are not rebuilt warbirds but aircraft untouched out of the RANFAA. Hope this may help
