Do 17 Crash-any ideas?

Can anyone help identify this crash? Peter Cornwell and myself have drawn a blank!

It's a Do17P so possibly an Aufklärungs unit candidate?

Thanks but we had deduced that

Take it this is in a Do 17P in Germany from the SA man walking across the field, likely in late spring/summer from vegetation, with fatalities from the unopened chest chute pack by the nose . Did not appear to have combat damage from m.g. fire on the wreckage , area possibly Rhineland- Palatinate ?
Good luck with this one hopefully someone might identify the location from the photo.

Hello.

It reminds me of Saarbrücken St. Arnual, because of the strange style of roof of the houses at the hill on the top of the photograph.

Regards,

The unbent propeller blades of the #1 engine most likely indicate that the #1 engine was not turning at time of impact.

Thanks all. You would have thought that such a spectacular crash would be well known hence we could identify it but I still remain hopeful

Re: Do 17 Crash-any ideas?

It seems to me that the aircraft did not crash by passing over the houses, but rather landed, or more probably belly-landed, somewhere in the left down corner of the picture and was skidding/rolling towards the house when it overturned.

Or the crash occured somewhere more far from the houses and what is in the picture is the wreck that had been pulled close to the road for being taken away. But in this case I guess the wings will have been cut before ? After all the field seems good enough to have trucks coming in it.

If we were in a CSI series, an enhacement of the background of the picture will have shown a nice panel with the village name...

Re: Do 17 Crash-any ideas?

One last thought on this looking at the land the aircraft is on and the way the bank has been eaten away towards the row of houses on the right hand side of the picture is the land subject to tidal flooding from an nearby river/lake (holding lake in times of local flooding) . The land is lower than the surrounding houses and has not been built on and it looks like part of a fence line along the section in the lower right of the picture. Not certain if this is the crash site or as Laurent says the wreckage may have been pulled there to await picking up from the hard surfaces in front of the houses. Nose smashed in on a river ditching ?
