III./JG300, Bf109 G, Wrk.Nr.?, crash location? (pilot baled out).
1./JG301, Bf109 G, Wrk Nr?, crashed Verden an der Aller (Ofw. Neumeier).
3./JG301, a/c type & Wrk.Nr.?, crashed Verden an der Aller (Uffz.Dienst).
7./JG301, Bf109 G-6, Wrk.Nr.?, crashed at Hannover-Wunstorf.

Thanks for any info,

Cheers, Theo

Hello Theo,
my father, Sgt Victor Lander was a gunner on Lancaster R5700 ,9 Sqd which was shot down by a JG.300 pilot on this night.
It was the crew's first operation.

Theo, do you have the book "Luftkrieg im Weserbergland" ?

I checked it (as I reminded it as giving crash locations for some JG 300 pilots) and there is nothing for JG 300/301 that night, but details on Halifaxes HX154 and a second bomber that is identified both as Halifax LM232 and Lancaster DS675 in text and in annexes...

For German losses, one is listed in annex (and is not in narrative): Ju 88 C-6 of 5./NJG 3 at Eberholzen, Lt Wallrath and another crew KIA.

By the way, the JG 30x losses I was thinking about in this book are for the Kassel raid on 22 October, several crashplaces listed in the book, tell me if you're interested.

Hello Bruce,

Thanks for your reply -actually, your father's Lancaster R5700 was coned by Flak searchlights and brought down by a combination of Flak and a twin-engined night fighter, the Flak and Flak searchlights being eventually credited with the kill, as I'll explain in detail in my new book series the Nachtjagd Combat Archive.

You can PM me for further details,

cheers, Theo

Thanks chaps for your useful additions/corrections to the listing. That only leaves these two JG300 losses, of which I'd like to know the crash locations and Wrk.Nr's:

6./JG300, Fw190 A, Wrk.Nr.?, crash location? (Fw. Merten baled out following air combat with Viermot).
III./JG300, Bf109 G, Wrk.Nr.?, crash location? (pilot baled out).

And Laurent: yes I have studied the book "Luftkrieg im Weserbergland" during the research of the NCA series.

Cheers, Theo
