Dears ,

I'm looking for more info. about wrack and crew , a/c with number: 241 256,
photo was made in Italy - 1944.
(probably Lancaster)

December 28, 1943. 376th BG, 514th BS. B-24D 42-41256. Attacking the M/Y at Vicenzia, Italy. Shot down by Bf 109, I believe. Crew of ten, five POW, five declared dead (as of the end of the war).

John, second link is about a diorama about the aircraft discussed in this thread, with the story of its last mission. Nothing political.

As for providing links for non-English websites, I have done it too before for answering question on French or Russian units, for example. I understood the rule has always posting in English here, but to provide links in other languages was OK for me.

I think it is not problem , everybody knows it is in Italina language and it is possible translate into English ;) for ex. by "google translator".
