He111 “A1+GN” (5./KG53) belly landing
Hi,
On the afternoon of January 8, 1944 the Heinkel of Winkler and his crew made a successful belly landing on Golta airfield in the Ukraine after a bombing mission North-West of Kirowograd. Aparently their Heinkel was hit twice by AA-fire. My question is if there is a official report on this belly landing. The plane was probably not a write off after the successful belly landing, but I don’t know if the percentage of damage caused by the AA-fire was sufficient to have a report. Regards, Thomas |

It probably would have generated a report, however the available Gen.Qu. loss reports between 2-Jan-44 and late Dec-44 are all missing!! There may still be a chance to find some info on this loss, however, in a WASt (or casualty) report if any of the crew were injured or killed.
