Loss of P-38 42-104 138

Searching any information as into the loss of Col.Oliver Ford on April
15,1944 during engagement with German or Romanian fighters SSW
of Ploesti ( other than MACR or History Book ) .Are there any Luftwaffe
or Romanian claims of this P-38 or any other historical references ?

Hello Alex K,

There are three MACR's for the 14th FG this day, Luftwaffe P38 claims in this region were for four I think.
Quite possibly the Rumanian Air Force may also have been in combat this day as well.
