Capt. Billy E. Phelps B-17 Downed May 44

Phelps was shot down in May 1944, over Germany and be became a POW. Does anyone have the name of the camp he went to?

Hello Andy,

2nd Lt Billy Eugene Phelps was captured on 12 May 1944 at 1459 hrs in Heuchelheim near Gießen (see MACR 4774, KU 1861).
He came to the camp Stalag Luft III near Sagan in Niederschlesien/Lower Silesia, today Zagan, Poland.
