Flying accident 4.(F)/121, 12. Sept. 40

Good afternoon,

from GQM rep. dated 14.9.40 (Lfd. Nr. 42), Lfl. 3, comes the info:

12.9.40, 4.(F)/121, H, Böblingen, Absturz nach Start (crash after take-off), Do 17 P, 3530, 100%, 2 dead

From the war graves list of Böblingen community (Kriegsgräberliste) i got the 2 Names, as statd in list both belonging to 4.(F)/121 :

Fw. Otto, Fritz ( *26.10.1914, died 12.9.40, buried 15.9.40)
Uffz. Kühn, Hans ( *29.7.1918, died 12.9.40, buried 15.9.40)

Due to their age i assume, Fw. Otto was the pilot, and Uffz. Kühn either Bf or Bm.

I am looking for confirmation of this "puzzled" info either from NVM or KTB and/or further info about the Do 17 P, i.e. the code. Any further info is welcome !

Happy Easter and
kind regards,
Uwe K.

P.S.: Böblingen was the old airport of Stuttgart, until the "new" airport (Echterdingen) was opened.

Dear Chris,

that was a very fast reply - and confirms my guess.
Thank you very much !

There is some confusion regarding Fritz Otto/ Otto Fritz.
The German Volksbund für Kriegsgräberfürsorge has:
Otto = family name
Fritz = Christian name

This was also corrected in the Böblingen grave list after the war.
