Time of crash of 550 Sqn Lancaster LM455 near Blāmont, 28-29.7.1944?
Dear all,
Can anybody provide me with the time of crash of 550 Squadron Lancaster LM455 near Blāmont during the 28-29 July 1944 Stuttgart raid? The aircraft was shot down by a night fighter, crashed and exploded near Blāmont, E of Luneville, but I have not found a time of the crash. Grateful for any details, Theo |

Odd, here is a chart of the moon phases for July, 1944, so it appears it was actually a first quarter moon on the 28th/29th. It may be visibility depended on where you were located. If there were low rain clouds it may not have been visible from the ground, for example.
