3.Fliegerdivision(sec. edition) 1943-1945.
 

Dear friends,

In our discussion about Gefechtsverband Helbig/Hogeback/Hallensleben/Kowalewski 3.Fliegrdivision was mentioned in one of the Ultra messages. From further research I have got the idea that this unit, 3.Fliegerdivision, was the unit responsable for at least the operations of two Kampfgeschwader KG 51 and KG 53. The 3.Fliegerdivision came from the Eastern Front in October/November 1944 and returned to it in January 1945.
Who knows exact dates?
KG 53 became part of 3.FlDiv at 23 Oct. 1944 and KG 51 from 3 Nov. 1944.
Maybe I am jumping to conclusions but if I am not correct please let me know.
Gef. Hallensleben was from November 18th, 1944 "truppendienstlich" under 3.Fl.Div. and "einsatzmässig" Lw.kdo.West.
