B-25 of 491st BS lost on 20/12/1943
May I ask if here is anybody who can help me with details about the plane and its crew?
The plane was damaged by flak on 12/20/1943 and I suppose it was B-25 41-30367 MACR 1492 (do not know what the last number means?) from 491st Bomber Squadron, 341st Bomber Group, Fourteenth Air Force. Crew: 4 killed, 3 baled out and became PoWs. Any info about the plane, its crew and the last mission much appreciated. Thanks a lot in advance Pavel |

Aircraft accident reports and Mission reports can be obtained from:
Dept. of the AF AF Historical Research Agency, 600 Chennault Circle, Maxwell AFB AL 36112-6424 It will take several weeks to a month to get this information back to you. You will need to provide the mission date, Unit (bomb group and squadron), target and mission number, if known. You can request the groups' history on microfilm from MAXWELL AFB, Georgia. They cost $22.00 per roll. The microfilm may contain aircraft assignments, maintenance records, disciplinary forms, crash reports, etc. Call (334) 953-2439, and ask for Essie Roberts at Air Force Historical Research Center, Maxwell AFB. bye FrankieS |

There is a 341st BG web site. While they do not have any real data on it, they have a webmaster contact you can email.
