Cause of death of stuka pilot

Hello!

I try to get some more information about the career and death of my grandfather "Eduard (Hugo) Scheerer". He was a pilot and stuka flight instructor in Bad Aibling (http://www.ww2.dk/air/schule/stvs1.htm or http://www.ww2.dk/air/schule/stvs2.htm) and died in Italy on February, 4th in 1943. I also know, that he had to move to Italy before he died.

Can you give me a hint where I can find more information about his pilot/luftwaffe career after Bad Aibling and the cause of his death?

Many Thanks!
Andreas

This is the only Luftwaffe officer we have by that last name. This means he must have been an NCO. WASt in Berlin will be able to help you with this if you are a blood relative. Google WASt Berlin.

SCHEERER, Walter. (DOB: 09.06.21). 01.02.42 promo to Lt.(Ln.)/A1.
