Kurt Gotze 1922-2018

Fliegergemeinschaft mourn one of our oldest, at 96, a legend. He earned the pilot licence number one in the former German Democratic Republic. He also flew as an assault airman in the Second World War. After the reunification, he was very active in veterans reunions as even more so in civil aviation. A most sought after, helpful consultant and mentor.

Gentlemen, Did Kurt Gotze won any awards from East Germany? As I recalled Gotze was a amazing pilot of gliders and propellered aircraft.
