A question on Soviet fighter losses 42/43.
I am currently researching a 6./Kampfgeschwader 27 "Boelcke" Fliegerschutz Flugbuch and it contains listings for the following Soviet fighter aircraft destroyed with the annotation as it is entered in the FB;
02-October-42 "Bahn Woronesh-Usman. 3 Jäger. 1 abs.(chuß)" 07-October-42 "Bahnhof Schungaie. 2 Jäger. 1 abs.(chuß)" 07-October-42 "Bahnhof Elton u.(nd) nördl.(ich) 4 Jäger. 1 abs.(chuß)" 30-November-42 "Rückflug. 4 Jäger. 1 abschuß." 23-July-43 "Soloborewo. Ort. 6 Jäger. 1 abschuß." I appreciate that this this really is 'needle in the hay-stack' territory however, I did think it worth asking consequently, if anyone has any detail or info on the Soviet losses or even the opposing units faced on the respective dates, it really will be very well received. Regards Richard. |
Re: A question on Soviet fighter losses 42/43.
Richard,
It's needle in the hay-stack indeed. Hard to find locations, hard to match units, even if some soviet records are accessible. On July 23, 1943 many soviet fighter regiment suffered losses, such as: 160 иап 287 иап 287 иап 31 иап 515 иап 523 иап 63 гв.иап 728 иап 85 гв.иап, etc. 4th Air Army lost IL-2m3 S/N: 1877843, 7212, etc. Same for 1942. Please provide some data on opponent soviet fronts, or air divisions in order to map their appropriate losses. |
