Identity of Ju88 lost in Irish Sea 10-4-41

I would very much appreciate help to confirm the identity of a Ju88 A-5 W.nr 0665 believed to be from 3/F121 shot down 10 April 1941 by F/Lt Dawbarn 312 Sqn RAF who misidentified it as a Bf110.

Many thanks for any help.

This Staffel was based at Dinard and reputed to have come down off Anglesey. Foreman says Truhar of 312 Sqn claimed a 110 damaged off Aberdeen at 1425 hrs???? Bit far for a Sqn based at Valley

Quite some distance from Aberdeen....
I wonder if Foreman misread the name Aberdaron for Aberdeen?

Cheers

Stig,

Norman Franks obviously has the same eye problem. See: FCL1(rev.ed.)/111, (10/4/1941).

Ha, ha Col :D

Good point. Glad you checked this one up thoroughly (Thanks!)
I don't have the revised issue of Franks FCL Vol 1, but it explains from where the name Dawbarn comes from in Tony's original message.

I my issue of Franks' Vol 1 (page 112) Dawbarn was from 317Sq but presumably on the revised edition it has now been changed to 312? Is possibly the serial of Dawbarn's Hurricane also known by now??

Cheers
Stig
