A beautiful piece of wing to identify

Hi Gents

a friend of a friend found this part in the North East of Toulouse, south west of France.

Unfortunately, no date, no background;

This looks very to a flap, but the position of the swastika puzzles me and I have problems to identify the aircraft type.

Can you shed some light on this ??....

Thanks

Highly questionable. I would doubt the authenticity of this.

Photo n.4 probably is from Ju 88 landing gear

JU88 would make sense, several crashed in the Toulouse area,

but the position of the Swastika on this part does not match.

the mystery remains.

It is not a Swastika, it is the Iron Cross. The national insignia. Look all over the part with a magnification glass for numbers and letters that are engraved into the metal.

Well, looks more of an access panel or door, not a control surface. Interior looks to be constructed more as a mounting for something and, I think there are a lot of pop-rivets in that interior structure? The two hinges would likely have part numbers cast into them if German WW2. Cheers

Not named Iron Cross. Balkenkreuz. In different forms since 1918.

New information: the owner of this part send me these pictures where you can see the marking carved in metal :

LU593 120

And on the nuts : "L C"

A good clue ?

Cher Gilles,

Could it be from a Laté 298? Some were eventually captured at Toulouse and put to fly under the Luftwaffe.

LC = Latécoère ??

And this particular wing seems to have a narrow chord if the Balkenkreuz is original (and for me it looks so).

Maybe some friends can list Laté 298 losses nearby Toulouse for us...
