Theodor Nordmann's 1111th Feindflug
 

Gentlemen,

Does anyone know when Major Nordmann flew this milestone mission?
Its celebration was documented with at least 3 photos.
Also, when exactly he was promoted to Major?

Hans Schuh wrote a bio based on Nordmann's Feldpostbriefe which appeared in Luftwaffen Revue. The 1111th sortie was a date in August 44. I thought the promotion to Mjr. was posthumous, but looking at one of Schuh's images he's captioned it as " Major Nordmann nach Rückkehr von seinem 1111. Feindflug.."

Thanks, I found this information in the web, but was curious about the original source. The other two photos of Nordmann taken at the same occasion seem to show Major's shoulder straps.

just re-read the article - promotion to Mjr. dated 1 April 1944 according to the feature (December 2011 issue)
