Mosquito nightfighters from 2 TAF flew 'Blackmail' missions during March 1945. What kind of missions were they ?

Re: Blackmail missions
Hello,
2TAF3/Shores & Thomas/448, mentions the following in a picture caption: A Mosquito XIII, HK475 'PS-D' of 264 Squadron receives attention while parked with 609 Squadron's Typhoons at B.77 Gilze-Rijen. The Mosquito was at Gilze-Rijen for 'Operation Blackmail' which involved flying Dutch resistance agents (including one female) over occupied territory to communicate with their colleagues on the ground. Re: Blackmail missions
There is a thread here which gives the names of some of the resistance agents and pilots who flew on these missions, including the woman. See post 13 :
https://www.britishbadgeforum.com/fo...hlight=witches The "Three Witches" badge mentioned also has another long discussion thread here: https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/cana...ion-t5315.html The communication method would have been via S-phone which was a short range line of sight system. There is a very brief scene showing the S-phone at 7:11 and a little longer one starting at the 57:30 mark of this movie: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YsDTZKbVZiw Or at the 1:42:00 mark of this Alan Ladd Film "OSS": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OUKcdPUQBVY |
