Hi kaki3152,
on tho slink, there is visible "sky band" marking - so the date is after 11/1940 if I remember correctly. https://www.ebay.de/itm/Foto-2-WK-Ab...frcectupt=true So it fit (and serial number is visible), that this machine is Spitfire Mk. Vb W3208, which was lost 6.7.1941: http://aircrewremembered.com/carter-leslie.html Faenor |

Just a comment - it's clear he crash landed on land, so why is he a Runnymede commemoration? Even if dead in the cockpit, I'd have expected a known burial?

Spitfire W3208 was piloted by P/O Skinner - there is more info about this pilot: http://www.bbm.org.uk/airmen/SkinnerWM.htm On this link, http://aircrewremembered.com/carter-leslie.html , there is another Spitfire shot downed in same engagement and there is notice about Spit W3208 Faenor |
