Two losses of 36th Fighter Group in March 1945
Dear community,
I actually try to clear some P-47 losses in the Siebengebirge - Westerwald area in the western part of Germany during March 1945. Concerning two cases from 36th Fighter Group, I need some support: 10th March 1945 2nd Lt. Robert E. Boyle Jr. from 22nd Fighter Squadron, according to MACR 12977, he was last seen in the Koblenz area, I think he survived the crash of his P-47. 16th March 1945 1st Lt. Wayne J. Hoeck from 23rd Fighter Squadron, according to MACR 13101, he went down by chute in the Neunkirchen area and was seen running away to a forest area. Does anyone has some more information about the closer circumstances of these pilots fate - especially from leaving the plane by chute until capture by German forces? Any help is welcome, best regards, Oliver |
