Loss record discrepancies, III./J.G.5, 28.09.1943
 

Hi, guys.

Digging a bit again, and came up with this discrepancy:

On 28.09.1943, Hans Link of 9./J.G.5 was posted as missing. In the loss record from Gen.Qu.6.Abt. he is recorded as flying Bf 109F-4 WNr 7485, coded 'Schwarze 1'. I also have his Namentliche Verlustemeldung, this states that he flew Bf 109G-2 WNr 17254, also coded 'Schwarze 1'.

In my overview of WNr series I have recorded the 17000 series as going from 17000 to 17057, these being G-6 version manufactured in August 1943.

So, can anyone add to this ?
