Norwegian pilot in Luftwaffe

Hi guys

I have read that a Norwegian pilot in the Luftwaffe participated in the attack against convoy PQ-18 - therefore KG26 or KG30 - and was shot down and taken prisoner; apparently his crew were killed. 13/14 September 1942.

Has anyone any information, please?

Cheers
Brian

According to the loss lists available to me, no Luftwaffe airman was captured during the PQ 18 battles. Most crew just went missing. The crew of a He 111 was rescued at sea by a He 115, and the crew of a He 115 was rescued by an U-boat.

No Norwegian pilots joined KG 26 og KG 30 during the War.

Hi guys

The story is mentioned in the 1943 book "Dynamite Cargo" (Cassell & Co) by American Fred Herman.

The next question - was this book fiction?

Cheers
Brian
