In my research on the 8/JG2,I have a"little" problem about the numbering of his "abchusse" according to the sources that J have.

I have some remarks to submit to you.

If the date of 03/05 is good,then the claim is justified.

(6.)(7.) 14/07/43=2 B-17...strange,very doubtfull statement because if these were claimed at the S.E. of Paris (Johannes):it's unfounded.

The only B-17 shot down in that region is 42-3049 (305°BG) crashed "Lieusaint" (10km.Melun),claimed by Oblt.von Lubich (JG105).
The other B-17 shot down in the E.of Paris (not S.E) is 42-3071 (94°BG) crashed "Louvres" (Goussainville) claimed by Fw.von Farnholz and Obl.Eder.

I list 6 "abschusse"(as Johannes) but with a small difference in date and not 9 as J.Prien and co.

The "claim" of 06/09/43 is unfounded (Prien.Wood.Johannes):no B-17 shot down in the S.O.Tours.

Just a heads-up, Jochen Prien's 6./JG2 data is all mixed-up for Afrikan publication, the details are correct, but not the names, assume Tony's list is correct.

Edward, he died in 2013.

Is it known if his Abschussmeldungen (guess I wrote correctly now) survived ?
It is very sad that Germany (Bundesarchiv) does not have those documents digitalized like we can find some RAF Combat Reports at NARA.

Am particularly interested in one of his combats.
