Constantine Oliver Joseph Pegge 610 Squadron
Surely this pilot had either a nickname of a shortening of his christian name? Given he was a lad from Slough 'Constantine' seems rather grandiose...

Re: Constantine Oliver Joseph Pegge 610 Squadron
Pegge may also have had the nickname 'Pegleg', although probably not much used.
This from the excellent new history of the squadron by David J. Bailey (e.g. on page 344). The full title is; '610 (County of Chester) Auxiliary Air Force Squadron, 1936-1940'. Published by Fonthill Media last month. An outstanding piece of research by a first-time author covering the period that most interests me. Just finished reading this book and I cannot praise it enough. Regards, Martin. |

Hi Martin,
My copy of Bailey's book is on the "water" (literally), probably be 3 months before l sight the thing. Good to get a positive report on the contents. Couple of reviews l've read gave the impression of something akin to Steve Brew's efforts on 41 Squadron. For those amongst you contemplating a purchase, the following should be noted: https://www.naval-military-press.com...ron-1936-1940/ Col. |
