Luftwaffe's last operational biplane?

Good Morning,

In going through the Flugzeugunfalle und Verluste bei den Fl. Verbanden in Gen. Qu. 6. Abt. Nr. 1800/45 g.Kdos. (V), for February 1945, I found operational losses of Fiat Cr 42's of 2./N.S.Gr. 7.

Was the Fiat Cr 42 the last biplane used operationally by the Luftwaffe?

best regards,

Jim

It was one of the last but the Nachtschlachtgruppen in the East were also using the Go 145 and Ar 66 (and He 46?) in 1945 as well as the Cr. 42.

Andrew Arthy and Morten Jessen's e-articles will tell you how long the Hs 123 remained in service.

Hello,

At Celle in Germany, four biplanes and an Arado Ar 96 frome NSG 111 were captured by british troop in April 1945.
One was a Bucker Bu 131 WNr: 6106 coded: GD+OH with a winter camouflage.
Also a Gotha Go 145 WNr ? Coded: TD+BA and a Gotha Go 145 WNr ? Coded: RP+NU
I don't know anything about the last Gotha Go 145.
But if somebody can add informations, I'll be very glad.

Best regards,
Lumabe.

Thank you, Nick and Lumabe.

It looks as thought the Cr. 42 was a runner-up.
