8 November 1944 Hurricane PG578

8 November 1944 Hurricane PG578 82 OTU Take off RAF Ossington at 16.30 reported crashed 19.35. Some sites say it crashed at RAF Sculthorpe and others at Scunthorpe. F/Sgt Anderson was killed , I checked the GRO and the death of a William Anderson is registered in Scunthorpe. Can anybody clear this up please.

From Form 765C:

"Aircraft crashed while pilot was attempting to land in a field near Scunthorpe Lincs." "Ferry Road West".

Pilot had refuelled at Tollaton.
